The performance data foundation of the Unison SMO

Unison PM collects, aggregates, and exposes RAN and Core performance data across all vendors and technologies, providing the data layer that feeds C-SON optimisation, NOC operations, and Unison AI analysis.

RAN and Core PM counter support

Native import of raw PM counters directly from the OSS across all RAN vendors and technologies, as well as Core network data sources. Adaptive to new OSS software releases without manual schema updates.

KPI Definition Management

Dynamic and pre-aggregated KPIs are fully configurable by power users. Define custom KPI formulas, set thresholds, and build KPI hierarchies across technology layers, without engineering intervention.

Multi-dimensional aggregation

KPIs are aggregated across multiple dimensions, cell, site, RNC/BSC, region, sub-region, polygon, and any custom dimension the operator requires. Granularity spans 15-minute, hourly, daily, weekly, and monthly intervals.

Web-based Report Builder IDE

An advanced, customisable SQL-based report builder IDE that allows power users to create bespoke reports aligned to the operator's digital transformation strategy. Reports can be automatically scheduled, emailed, and trigger alerts based on threshold breaches.

Worst Cell Management

Automatically identifies worst-performing cells based on configurable criteria. Each new worst cell identified each week is transitioned through a structured workflow, from NEW, to OPEN (engineer assigned), to FIXED, with full audit history.

Third-party system integration

Integrates with third-party BI platforms such as Tableau for advanced analytics, and with external data sources including GCP PM data pipelines for cloud-hosted operator environments.

Centralised reporting across all Unison applications

Unison Insight Analytics is a SQL-based centralised reporting and dashboarding platform that spans all Unison applications, providing a single reporting layer for performance governance, C-SON impact analysis, and operational reporting.

Performance governance

Performance governance reports by vendor, technology, and region, including regulatory body reports covering cell speed details and power audits, schedulable and automatically emailed.

C-SON impact analysis

Impact analysis reporting showing the correlation between C-SON changes applied and network KPIs, with drilldown from network level to individual cell to view delta KPI changes before and after each optimisation action.

Custom chart types

Advanced charting components allowing users to switch between line, bar, and pie chart formats. Pre vs Post (event) and Post vs Fixed (threshold) KPI comparisons support both C-SON trial assessment and acceptance testing workflows.

Automated alerting

Build threshold-based alerts on any KPI or counter, with automated email distribution and alarm raising integrated into the Unison NOC and workflow management tools.

Hardware & operational reports

RET label and tilt discrepancy checking based on custom rulesets. Hardware reports for management-level reporting. C-SON success, failure, and volume reporting for SON governance.

Feed into Unison AI

Live PM data is continuously available to the Unison AI engine, enabling natural language queries against current and historical KPI data, anomaly detection, and AI-driven optimisation recommendations.

Vendor-agnostic ingestion

Imports PM counters directly from Nokia, Ericsson, Huawei, Samsung, and Mavenir OSS environments, automatically adapting to new software releases and new counter definitions without manual intervention.

Closed-loop integration

PM data feeds directly into Unison C-SON for automated optimisation and into Unison ADR for performance-based discrepancy resolution, creating a continuous closed loop between performance data and network action.

O-RAN PM interface support

Aligned to the O-RAN RAN NF Performance Assurance Management SMOS specification, supporting file-based and streaming PM data collection, configurable granularity periods, and trace management services.
