What Unison FWA does

Automatically geo-lock your FWA subscribers

Unison FWA automates the full FWA subscriber lifecycle, from point-of-sale coverage checks through to whitelist generation, PCRF provisioning, and ongoing whitelist maintenance as the network evolves.

Point-of-sale coverage & capacity check (EPOS)
At the point of sale, Unison FWA checks whether a prospective subscriber's location has sufficient 4G or 5G coverage and available network capacity. It returns the best available package to the sales team in real time, preventing FWA sales in areas where the network cannot support the service.

Intelligent whitelist generation
For each provisioned subscriber, Unison generates a whitelist of the optimal cells (default 15, configurable) authorised to serve that location. The algorithm accounts for location, height profile, azimuth, beamwidth, carrier, technology, timing advance data, and handover statistics to identify the best serving cells.

PCRF/OCS provisioning
The generated whitelist is automatically provisioned on the PCRF or OCS, enforcing geo-locking at session authorisation. When a subscriber attempts to initiate a data session, the PCRF/OCS checks the whitelist and authorises or rejects accordingly. Supports Huawei UPCC and other vendor PCRF/OCS environments.

CRM integration, onboarding, moves, cancellations
Integrates with the operator's CRM via push notification or API. When a subscriber is provisioned, moves address, or cancels, the CRM pushes the event to Unison FWA, which automatically updates the whitelist and re-provisions the PCRF/OCS without manual intervention.

Ongoing whitelist maintenance
As the network evolves, new sites added, carriers changed, coverage updated, Unison FWA automatically refreshes whitelists using the latest CM data, site database, and timing advance data. New sites are incorporated into subscriber whitelists periodically without operator intervention.

Manual review & complaint resolution
When a subscriber raises a service complaint, operators can manually review and edit the whitelist within Unison FWA. Line-of-sight analysis between the subscriber location and candidate cells is available to support manual cell addition decisions.

Whitelist algorithm

Precision cell selection for every subscriber location

The Unison FWA whitelist algorithm combines multiple network data sources to identify the cells best positioned to serve a specific subscriber location, going well beyond simple proximity.

Multi-factor cell selection
The algorithm considers location coordinates, height profile, cell azimuth and beamwidth, carrier and technology, timing advance data, and historical handover statistics to rank candidate cells. Only cells with a clear line of sight and confirmed ability to serve the location are included.
Density-aware radius
Based on the density of the subscriber's area, a maximum radius is applied to determine the candidate cell pool. Neighbour cells of the highest handover-attempt cells are also evaluated, ensuring no suitable serving cell is missed.
Configurable whitelist size
The number of cells per whitelist defaults to 15 but is fully configurable per operator. For large-scale deployments, service bundle areas, grouping subscribers into pre-configured cell pools, can reduce PCRF provisioning overhead.
Integration & data requirements

Integrates into OSS, BSS, and Core

Unison FWA requires integration into both the operator's OSS and BSS layers to support automated workflows. Data is ingested via an ETL platform with dedicated engines for CM, PM, coverage, and CRM data.

Configuration & performance data
Full CM data dumps from Huawei (GEXPORT/NBIEXPORT), Ericsson (ENM XML), and ZTE (NetNuman). PM KPIs including PRB utilisation, DL/UL throughput, cell availability, and timing advance data. Coverage rasters from TEOCO Asset (50x50m resolution, BEST RSRP and Best Server).
BSS
CRM integration
Subscriber MSISDN, IMSI, and home location (GPS coordinates) provided via CRM push or pull API. Events covered: new subscriber provisioning, address change, and cancellation. CSV file export or direct API integration supported.
Core
PCRF / OCS provisioning
Whitelist provisioned directly on PCRF or OCS. Supports Huawei UPCC CPE Location Lock Policy. Provisioning can be phased for large existing subscriber bases to manage customer impact during migration.
