Network Testing

Unison SSV

Part of the Network Testing domain, subscriber experience assurance and on-site verification for field engineers and test teams

Two products. One purpose, ensuring the network performs as designed, from the subscriber's perspective. Unison Mobile provides continuous field measurement and drive testing. Unison SSV delivers zero-touch automated on-site acceptance testing before any site goes live.

Core Capabilities

Purpose-built for field engineers and test teams

Unison Mobile automatically synchronises with the Unison web platform, retrieving live site data, uploading measurement results, and integrating directly with deployment and acceptance workflows without any manual file handling.

01
Automatic site data synchronisation
Unison Mobile automatically connects to the Unison server to retrieve relevant site location information and displays it in real time on the device, no manual data downloads required.
02
Automatic measurement uploading
Data collected on the device is uploaded directly to the Unison platform, eliminating the need to download log files locally and ensuring all field data is immediately available to the central operations team.
03
Network topology visualisation
Live GIS view of the surrounding network, including serving cell identification, signal strength, coverage layers by technology and frequency, and neighbouring cell information.
04
Ping and streaming tests
Latency testing for common applications (including social media and streaming platforms), YouTube and Netflix streaming quality assessment, and repeated long and short call testing sequences.
05
Single-Site Verification (SSV)
Integrated SSV functionality for automated on-site call and data testing, covering MO/MT call tests, CSFB, DL/UL speed/latency, emergency call, and HTTP/FTP tests with immediate PASS/FAIL results.
06
Drive test integration
Unison uses cell trace data to identify geo-location information with high accuracy, plotted on the map to display signal level, quality, and traffic information for coverage, pilot pollution, and cross-feeder analysis.
Hardware

Modular RF measurement containment

For structured drive testing and multi-device measurement scenarios, Unison Mobile supports a fully modular, tamper-proof RF measurement containment module.

Multi-device containment
Houses one or four smartphones running Unison Mobile simultaneously, enabling different test scenarios to be run in parallel, much like a CET kit.
Flexible charging
USB output supports car chargers, mains plugs, and power banks, ensuring continuous operation across extended field campaigns.
Lightweight and portable
Lightweight design allows field engineers and test teams to carry the containment module on public transport, trains, tubes, and buses, for urban drive test campaigns.
Integration

Connected to the full Unison platform

Unison Mobile is not a standalone app, it is a field extension of the Unison SMO, feeding directly into deployment, acceptance, and optimisation workflows.

Unison Deploy integration
SSV results feed directly into the Unison Deploy site acceptance workflow, automatically populating the build audit and providing evidence for milestone claims.
Unison Optimiser integration
Drive test data collected via Unison Mobile feeds the Unison Optimiser and C-SON engine, providing ground-truth coverage data to inform automated optimisation decisions.
Centralised drive test analytics
All drive test campaigns are imported into Unison Inspect, providing a central repository for post-processing, month-on-month comparison, and root cause analysis of repeated failure events.
